A Bruxelles, découvrez:

Rue de la brasserie

A wooden framework shell was used in the construction of this complex of 12 social housing units on Rue de la Brasserie in Ixelles, providing high-performance insulation of the housing units (cellulose over the entire thickness of the exterior wall), along with solid interior walls providing thermal mass for the building. Its heating needs are reduced to 14kWh/m2.yr.
n the building on the street, mass is supplied by an interior framework entirely in concrete, while the rear building has interior walls of sand-lime blocks. Prefabrication has reduced waste and allowed work to be carried out more rapidly and continuously.
Ecological materials, a ground-coupled heat exchanger, a rainwater cistern, triple glazing, and thermal solar panels make this complex exemplary in reduction of energy consumption. A semi-private garden contributes to the amenities for the residents.
