Rue Crocq
The owners of this single-family house have taken advantage of the replacement of the roof and its framework to raise the rear section in order to make the attic more habitable, create a large sun room and increase the living area.
This choice optimises diffusion of natural light through the residence. The windows of the front façade are equipped with perforated blinds to limit overheating problems. The roof and the façade have been insulated with high-performance materials such as blown cellulose and FSC wood. Heating of the house is limited to 25kWh/m2.yr.
It also has 20m2of photovoltaic solar panels, a double flow ventilation system and a 20m3 rainwater cistern supplying the garden and the toilet facilities. Some materials from the worksite have been recovered and recycled. The garden is occupied by a vegetable garden, a composting area and indigenous plants.
