Rue Beeckman
A pilot project of the Uccle administration, this building is the reflection of its desire to promote sustainability. The building requires an energy supply of only 13.3 kWh/m2.yr.
The accent has been put on ecological quality of materials in construction and finishing. Installation of double-flow ventilation with heat recovery was necessary for the project to achieve the passive building level.
To limit internal heat sources, the team concentrated on optimisation of lighting and managed to decrease sources by half. An extensive green roof, a 30m3 rainwater cistern, and use of linoleum for the floors complete the ecological measures.
