A Bruxelles, découvrez:

King Baudouin Park

The park lies in the valley of the Molenbeek and is a complex of semi-natural landscapes and more recreational areas.

The first part of the site includes the Sacré-Cœur garden and the floor of the valley of the Molenbeek. It has been developed as a classical landscaped park where lawns, ponds, ornamental plant beds, woods and poplar groves alternate.

In the second part, a pond has been created. Out of ecological considerations, its banks were restored so that typical aquatic vegetation could be established there.

The third part of the site is divided into three areas: a space developed around the Laerbeek chalet; the meadows, orchard, vegetable gardens, cultivated fields and woods; and the wetland of the Jette marsh, considered a nature reserve. T

he site, listed as a Natura 2000 area, is interspersed with springs and crossed by picturesque little paths. A playground has been established not far from Laerbeek chalet.

A reed bed with sweetgrass harbours fish and numerous amphibians. The hedges create a real woodland ambiance. A number of remarkable trees have been inventoried on the site. The most important project of Brussels Environment was re-opening the course of the Molenbeek.
