Florair

The initial intention of the Jette Foyer to replace the window frames and renovate the façades of the FLORAIR I to IV buildings in Jette has been supplemented with thermal insulation of the façades.
The project originators were inspired by a comparative study of consumption in two identical German housing units equipped with different systems. To keep energy performance the same for all the housing units, and to stay within the budgetary limits, it was decided that its extremities (including more surfaces with losses) would be equipped with a double flow ventilation system, and the interior flats with a system combining natural air intake with controlled mechanical ventilation.
Special attention was given to management of thermal bridges. All together, the works undertaken allow a consumption of 20kWh/m2.yr to be achieved.
