Boulevard international
This project involves construction of a passive maintenance centre above a low-energy industrial building. Thanks to a metal beam, the structure rests half on the roof of the building, with the other half cantilevered above empty space.
The shell of the building is highly insulated; it is made of sandwich panels in sheet metal and polyurethane, with cellulose insulation. South-facing windows have been given priority, and triple glazing and high-performance window frames have been installed. A gas condensing boiler will cover heating needs and part of the domestic hot water needs.
Thermal solar panels will cover the rest of these. Heating needs are reduced to 15kWh/m2.yr. A rainwater cistern, a lagooning system for grey water and a trellis for planting complete the project.
