Avenue Georges Henri
For this project, reconstruction was carried out with a system of polystyrene formwork units, used because of their qualities as follows: an overall system (walls and floor slabs) that can be rapidly installed; good management of thermal bridges; good airtightness; sizable thermal inertia, thanks to the concrete, ensuring comfort in the summer; manufactured to measure and supplied without packaging, thus limiting construction waste.
A gas condensing boiler with individual regulation provides heating for the three flats and 50% of the domestic hot water, with the remainder heated by the 10 m2of thermal solar panels on the roof. Result: a heating consumption no greater than 14 kWh/m2.yr (Brussels average: 106).
Cooling is provided by a free cooling system, and ventilation can be adjusted individually. A 9000 L cistern recovers rainwater. The ground-floor occupants have a 160 m2 private garden.
