Avenue du diamant
This average house was scheduled for demolition. Its owners have however completely renovated it to achieve the passive housing standard, and the residence provides every modern comfort.
The whole structural shell is clad with cellulose to fulfil strict thermal requirements. The building has balanced ventilation with heat recovery. The gas condensing boiler is used to produce heat in addition to the ventilation heater battery and the storage tank of the solar water heater.
All the ingredients of an ecological residence are here: very low energy consumption (15 kWh/m².yr), rainwater recovery, use of ecological materials, recovery of construction rubble, attention given to ‘soft’ mobility, and use of solar energy for production of hot water (5 m2of thermal collectors) and electricity (24 m2of photovoltaic collectors).
